Our Story

G.U.M.P Org which stands for( Great Under Mental Pressure) is a mental health non-profit organization. Which bridging the gap between mental and physical health through exercise and training assisting the youth and people coming from underserved communities and need additional enrichment and mentoring. Specifically designed to serve youth in Los Angeles, CA. We focus on the needs of the whole child. Our services include, but are not limited to tutoring, after school programs, summer enrichment programs, sports and recreation, mentorship programs and parenting classes. We created our BE G.U.M.P! (Great Under Mental Pressure) program to provide children with the opportunity to experience various means of expression usually neglected in modern educational settings. We have highly skilled professionals come in and teach their expertise in areas of Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Sports, Music, Film, Dance, Financial Literacy and much more.

BE G.U.M.P! seeks to awaken the GENIUS in every child by taking their interests and immersing them into the language of that field. This program was founded on the idea that TRUE education builds upon students’ natural abilities, innate talents and encourages them to be intellectually curious and explore the world around them. We believe that the process of learning something new should be exciting and entirely engaging for our children. Our program seeks to change the mindset of our youth by simply sparking their passions and heightening their interest in learning in creative and interactive ways.

Apprenticeship and real-world experience fuels our programs. Our programs have engaged and inspired so many youth and their parents over the last decade that our population is now in need of continuing BE G.U.M.P education into adulthood. We realized in reaching out to current and former G.U.M.P parents, that once our BE G.U.M.P’s leave summer camp or graduate high school, there is still a deficit in bridging the gap between school and the workforce. In order to bridge that gap, we aim to continue to service our school aged G.U.M.P’s, but also to continue to support our G.U.M.P’s who have grown up. We hope to develop a job training program for our youth whose current path is not college. We will organize and develop a trade and financial literacy program to prepare our older G.U.M.P’s for the workforce and beyond.
